Job Title: Solar Operations Engineer
Location: San Antonio, Texas
Reporting: Reports to Asset/O&M Manager

Our client is in need of a Solar Operations Engineer to provide technical support for their solar PV facilities. Your role involves ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant operation of our solar plants through maintenance, troubleshooting, and coordination of activities.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support for on-site installation, repair, and maintenance of solar PV facilities.
  • Monitor SCADA systems and site performance, analyze data, and identify equipment issues to maintain optimal operation.
  • Coordinate with onsite teams and external parties to address alarms and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintain protocols, policies, and regulatory compliance for solar plant operations.
  • Prepare reports, manage inventory, and support procurement activities for parts and supplies.
  • Assist in project management, including contractor supervision and compliance with warranties.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, new technology, and OEM requirements for solar power equipment.
 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred and specialization in power generation is an added bonus.
  • Experience operating and maintaining power generation systems, preferably in solar technologies.
  • Professional Engineer certification would be ideal.
  • Project management experience, particularly in plant maintenance or new construction projects, is advantageous.
  • Industry certifications (OEM certification etc.) related to solar power equipment are highly desired.
  • Solid technical skills and proficiency in engineering principles, including SCADA systems and equipment controls.
  • Flexibility to respond to emergency call outs and work non-traditional hours when necessary.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and ability to adapt to new software programs.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Valid driver’s license and readiness to travel to project sites and vendor locations.
