WRS and Arkstar Offshore

Worldwide Recruitment Solutions is a leading provider for technical staffing solutions in the marine industry, and WRS has developed important longstanding relationships with prestigious clients over the past ten years.

Singapore's Arkstar Offshore is one of WRS's most-valued Marine clients. Operating a sizeable fleet of AHTS (anchor handling tug supply) vessels, platform supply vessels, and a mud-processing barge, Arkstar Offshore is a leading provider in the offshore supply market. WRS and Arkstar have been working together since June 2016.

Since August 2016, two of Arkstar's AHTS vessels (Eagle 1 and Eagle 3) have been working out of Abu Dhabi, supplying rigs operated by Paragon Offshore — that are contracted by ESNAAD, who are a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC). ADNOC is the world's 11th largest oil company by production.

Our Mission for Arkstar Offshore

WRS was tasked with achieving low attrition, more efficient recruitment processes, and smooth on-boarding, as well as enhancing Arkstar's policies and procedures. These objectives required the sourcing, deployment, and mobilisation of 50+ multinational contractors around the world. All contractors required visas to work on the project location, as well as documentation checks and endorsements. In our commitment to Arkstar, we ensured that all contractors were managed with the utmost professionalism.

WRS began assisting Arkstar on two vessels in June 2016, and recruitment and mobilisation began in August 2016. Within 1 month, the vessels had been mobilised with both new and existing seafarers. All crew now adhere to contract and certification regulations, and have a strong relationship with a designated point of contact here at WRS. WRS manages all crew rotations, contracts, and documentation, taking considerable pressure away from the client.

If you are an experienced AHTS crew member seeking a fresh opportunity, look no further than our client Arkstar Offshore.

A day in the life...

A word from our client

The co-operation with Allianz Middle East, which commenced in September 2016, marked Arkstar Offshore’s first foray into Abu Dhabi and the team was looking forward to meet the challenges posed by this new venture.

It struck us that the requirements differ vastly in certain aspects despite us having prior experience operating within the Arabian Gulf. One of the more significant challenges was the additional certifications and medical examinations that the crews have to qualify for prior to acceptance by our end clients. The rigorous requirements meant that the team has to source, review and prepare for a new individual to join at least 2-3 weeks in advance should an existing member of our crew fail to return.

We were fortunate to have Worldwide Recruitment Services (WRS) take on a portion of our manning responsibilities. Their prompt responses and experiences in sourcing for qualified crew within Abu Dhabi contributed immensely in ensuring that our crew capabilities and rotations are well met and exceeded the stringent requirements of our charterer. We were also extremely grateful to them when a member of our crew had to be signed-off on urgent basis and were met with some resistance from our charterer. WRS managed to resolve the disagreement with much ease and professionalism.
