Career progression, company benefits, and an award-winning office culture—just three of the great opportunities for development, both personally and professionally, that you would profit from by becoming our next WRS team member.

Recruitment is an industry that is growing day by day, with many sectors of the world of work creating jobs, and many companies (clients) wanting to hire the best candidate for a job. This resourcing is where WRS enters the story. WRS has technical staffing solutions teams dedicated to finding the best possible clients in the Construction & Infrastructure, Mining, Marine, Manufacturing, and Energy sectors.

Recruitment is an industry that attracts people from all walks of life, and WRS is proof of this. Among our staffing teams, we have veteran recruiters with capacious contact lists; we have graduates with Bachelor’s and even Master’s degrees in a variety of fields; and we even have a small number of exceptional team members who haven’t finished university yet, whose talents we are polishing with the WRS values and training programme. But the reality is, the theoretical knowledge of a degree does not translate to immediate success in recruitment, nor is it strictly necessary to have a degree to work in recruitment. Our consultants and resourcers all share a handful of core values: determination, competitiveness, resilience, and a passion for communicating with others. Our team members are enthusiastic about liaising with clients and candidates alike, developing healthy relationships and using their communication skills and their desire to succeed, to manage each encounter exclusively, in order to provide the best solution to a client or a candidate.

But what makes WRS a company that you should be applying to right now? What can WRS offer you for your hard work?

Competitive, benchmarked pay and transparent commission schemes.
1 and a half hours for lunch if you wish to take gym or well-being time (this can include physical exercise, meditation, relaxation techniques—whatever best helps you).
A wide range of incentives for billing staff, including Club Lunch, international holidays (think Malaga and Las Vegas), and on-the-spot prizes such as prosecco and boxes of chocolates!
A company pension scheme, enabling you to work now, knowing your future is safe.
An additional 1 day holiday gained for every calendar year worked at WRS, plus half a day’s holiday for your birthday.
Flexible working hours; as outlined in our Operations Director Daniel Ward’s recent blog post, all our employees can choose to start between 7am and 9am and finish between 4pm and 6pm.
Smart casual dress code…no need to struggle with a tie in the morning!
Access to WRS company pool car for those in the UK
Cycle to work scheme (UK only)…want to reduce your carbon footprint? Let us help!

Over recent years, WRS has restructured the way its technical recruitment teams operate. In order to maximise work efficiency, the teams are assembled based on member roles that match a person’s level of experience and skillset. If you join WRS as a trainee with minimal experience, you will likely begin in a resourcing role, which will enable you to begin your recruitment  journey by developing a working knowledge of candidates. This role is fantastic for enabling you, the resourcer, to develop your interpersonal and communication skills; and, our website’s testimonials are a great example of the superb work our resourcers do, and a demonstration of the gratitude of our candidates!

Of course, at WRS, we aren’t just looking for people to join us as resourcers. Recruitment consultants, senior consultants, account managers—all of these roles are opportunities within the WRS sphere that could be filled by you, depending on how you see your career developing—whether you’d prefer to go down routes including Managing Consultant, Business Development Manager or, who knows, Divisional Director.

All of the jobs mentioned come with rewards. Not only do we operate a transparent commission scheme, but our lively office culture comes with opportunities to celebrate each success, with rewards such as wine and chocolates on offer! Every day you work for WRS, there are incentives for you to push yourself as far as you can go.

WRS employs an in-house Learning and Development team tasked with continuously improving and developing our consultants at all levels. Our recruiters have an amazing wealth of knowledge, skill, and best practice, and our learning environment facilitates the sharing and imparting of knowledge and experiences. From short, Splash Sessions, aimed at covering specific topics in a couple of hours, to more intense training days covering multiple subjects, our academy of learning exposes all consultants to structured time frames of proven development both personally and professionally.

I am one of the co-founders of WRS, growing our Global Mining and Global Construction division from infancy to what it is today. Over the last 8 years WRS has provided me with the platform to grow, from managing a small team of consultants to a Director managing several divisions. WRS has provided me with both internal and external training (both classroom based and practical, hands on training). This has facilitated my growth both as a manager and a business developer for the company. We have created an atmosphere which we feel differs from a typical recruitment office, one where creativity and autonomy are greatly valued and rewarded.”
LUCY
DIRECTOR

WRS takes great pride in its ethos and culture; we’re a multi-award-winning business who have been featured in the Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to Work For in both 2014 and 2015; in 2015 we won a Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade and we ranked in the LSEG’s 1000 Companies to Inspire Britain for both 2016 and 2017—among others. Our team members often maintain the great company dynamics outside of the office, too, with barbecues, meals, quiz nights, bowling, and many more social events often implemented. Most recently, many of the team took part in a wine-tasting evening, which raised money for our charity partner…

Each year, WRS nominates and stands behind a different charity, and for 2017 we are supporting the UHSM (Wythenshawe Hospital); UHSM is a fantastic cause for which to fundraise, and has treated many of those close to us in our Manchester Head Office. In 2015/16 we fundraised for Mercy Ships—a wonderful charity focused on providing life-changing surgery and healthcare to some of the world’s most disadvantaged people. We raise our funds to support these magnificent causes by organising and joining events such as half marathons, football tournaments, pub quizzes, and plenty more! In July, thirteen of our UK team will be walking the Yorkshire 3 Peaks.

And what better way to end a blog post than talking about opportunities to travel, both within the UK and overseas? Firstly, WRS has working offices in the UK and Singapore, as well as a presence in Malaysia, South Africa, the UAE, and Iraq. We provide opportunities to work abroad if necessary. And secondly, many of our consultants are able to visit clients in other countries: most recently, two members of our Mining team, based in the UK, enjoyed time in Paris, and our International Construction Consultant, Ella, recently travelled to Italy. Our Singapore team regularly travel around South East Asia to visit clients and attend exhibitions. We believe in the importance of building strong and lasting relationships with our clients, and travelling to visit them is a great way to build these.
