WRS' client operated an underperforming mine in a volatile region of Africa. The client was suffering from low morale and internal movements meaning there was an urgent General Manager role.
30 interviews had already taken place but the client had not managed to source a suitable candidate for the position, with the experience necessary to move the company forward.
WRS were given 2 weeks’ exclusivity on the role and re-qualified the position, taking particular care to understand why the 30 interviewed candidates had proved unsuitable. Within 2 weeks WRS had presented a shortlist, and went on to place the General Manager from this list.
Within 6 months of the General Manager’s start date, production on this particular gold mine had increased by 77% and plans had been put in place to further expand the mill.
