FPSOs, or Floating Production Storage Units, are permanently-moored offshore production facilities, which are capable of both the processing and storage of oil and gas. Used on both deepwater and ultra-deepwater fields, FPSOs are a great solution since they can react to weather conditions due to the vessel’s ability to freely rotate, but are still anchored to the seafloor using spread-mooring anchor systems.
FPSOs are generally tied to multiple wells, gathering oil and gas through pipelines. They are able to process oil and gas in a similar way to a production platform – once processed, hydrocarbons are transferred to the hull for storage.
WRS specialise in offshore oil and gas project roles and marine crew; regarding FPSO specifically, we are able to source contracted or permanent staff across the whole spectrum of disciplines, including soft landing solutions for FPSO clients.
