I am recruiting for a top tier Multi - Disciplinary Consultancy.

From Manchester, they provide a range of construction consultancy services including Building Services, Building Structures, Civil/Infrastructure engineering, Development and Transportation engineering, Environmental consultancy and other specialist consultant engineering services.

Their UK Building Services discipline stream is focused on delivering design-led, technically excellent services across the entire spectrum of building services required by their private and public sector clients. There are currently over 400 employees in the building services discipline, spread across nine UK offices and their complimentary resource centre in Delhi.

The Manchester Building Services team design projects in High-rise, Retail, Stadia, Healthcare, Education, Commercial and Financial, for a variety of public and private sector clients in the UK and abroad.

They are seeking to recruit an energetic and ambitious Associate Director with Electrical bias.
The successful candidate would be a key member of the Manchester Building Services team playing a significant role in the team's success. They will assist existing team in Manchester with the day to day management and delivery of an exciting range of iconic local projects.

The successful candidate will be outgoing and client facing with strong technical skills. Our strategic plan is to continue to grow the Manchester team, to become our largest team in the North of the UK and one of the three biggest teams in the UK. This is a fantastic opportunity for the right individual to develop their skills, with the opportunity to progress within the management structure and lead major projects in Manchester in the future.


The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate their ability, skills and competences to undertake the following -

• Technical excellence. The successful candidate will have proven excellent engineering skills and abilities and is expected to demonstrate a full appreciation and delivery of low energy, sustainable building services design. Technical ability is essential. My client are commissioned on technically challenging projects and innovation is one of our core values.

• Excellent project management skills with a proven track record of successful project delivery.

• Ability in the retention and development of client relationships. The ability to manage complex client relationships, to develop trust and obtain high levels of client satisfaction.

• The ability to undertake business development and marketing; develop/maintain excellent client relationships and ensure that the office has an ever increasing order book. Ideally the candidate will have knowledge of the North West construction markets and contacts locally within the industry. The success of the team will undoubtedly depend upon the ability of the candidate to help generate new and repeat business.

• Excellent inter-personal skills with good leadership & management abilities capable of communicating effectively with all parts of the business and clients.

• The ability to lead others motivating and ensuring welfare and career progression is considered. Demonstrate the necessary values and work ethic to gain the respect of their team.

• An understanding of the benefit of developing and retaining their staff. My client operate a 'Professional Development Review' process and encourage training and CPD.

• The ability to develop their desire to lead the Safety and Corporate responsibility agenda and gain recognition as a role model for all aspects of H&S awareness and application.

The successful candidate is currently likely to be in a similar or complementary business and either be or be working towards becoming a Chartered Engineer.
