Central Control Room Panel Operator (Start-up) – Uganda
We are seeking an experienced Central Control Room Panel Operator to support commissioning, start-up, and early operations of a large onshore production facility in Uganda. This role is critical during first oil and ramp-up phases, operating the plant from the Central Control Room (CCR) while coaching junior operators and ensuring safe, stable, and optimized production operations.

Key Responsibilities
- Participate in commissioning activities including loop checks, functional tests, and operational test procedures.
- Review and contribute to start-up procedures, reflex sheets, and alarm/trip validation.
- Operate the facility from the CCR during start-up, first oil, and early operations.
- Monitor and control DCS and associated control room interfaces to ensure safe and stable operations.
- Manage well production and injection, including ESP operations and troubleshooting.
- Adjust process parameters in real time to maintain safety, production targets, and equipment integrity.
- Support export and injection targets, acting immediately on deviations.
- Lead well and facility start-ups following drilling, workovers, shutdowns, or interventions.
- Act decisively during emergency situations, ensuring proper use of safety systems.
- Ensure full compliance with PTW, SIMOPS, and work management systems.
- Coach and mentor junior CCR operators, supporting competency development.
- Prepare accurate production reports, logs, and handover documentation.
- Contribute to lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives.
Candidate Profile
- Diploma of Higher Education / BTCE or equivalent.
- 10+ years’ experience in oil & gas operations, with at least 3 years in a similar CCR role.
- Strong technical understanding of oil, gas, water treatment, and utilities processes.
- Advanced DCS operating skills.
- Solid knowledge of PTW, SIMOPS, and operational safety systems.
- Able to work under pressure in a remote, multicultural environment.
- Strong communication, leadership, and reporting skills.
- Fluent in English.
