Consent and EIA Manager

One of WRS's renewable leading clients is looking to hire a Consent Manager to take the lead and responsibility for all permitting and EIA related activities on offshore wind tenders and projects in Germany.

Location:Germany (Hamburg)

Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Lead the consent and permitting processes for new wind farm projects in Germany.
  • Lead the process of applying for and securing offshore wind farm Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA’s) in Germany while liaison closely with the development technical and commercial teams.
  • Provide advice to technical project team on environmental and consenting matters related to Offshore Wind Farm projects.
  • Represent the company in meetings with external stakeholders, such as authorities at all levels, NGO’s, consultants, universities, and researchers. involved in the environmental studies, the impact assessment and consenting work.
  • Prepare proposals, documents, and presentation materials required to progress EIA’s and consents, meet obligations and manage external stakeholders.
  • Manage engineering companies and consultancies and monitoring activities.

Ideally required experience/ qualifications:
  • A degree in engineering, environmental management or similar.
  • 5+ years in permitting of large scale infrastructure projects or from the offshore wind industry.
  • Experienced project engineer, environmental or regulatory manager, preferably within large infrastructure projects.
  • Practical experience from similar consenting process of offshore projects in Germany.
  • Experience working with EIAs.
  • Detailed insight into the German offshore consenting procedures and regulatory landscape.
  • Preferably good relations with authorities at different levels and in different institutions.
  • A global mind-set with an ability to communicate clearly and being responsive to local and remote sparring, inputs and requests.
  • Perseverance and an ability to prioritise and execute tasks in order to meet deadlines.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong relationship management and networking skills. Proactive and co-operative way of working and high attention to detail.
  • Good team player with a desire to work in an international team.
  • Excellent communication skills and speak and write both German and English.
