The Client and Projects
This well-established Building Main Contractor has an enviable reputation throughout its offices in the UK and Europe. The Midlands and East Anglia region has secured this year's projected turnover and has a strong pipeline of projects into Q1 and Q2 of 2017.

These projects include complex and challenging schemes in the Healthcare, Science and Education sectors predominantly based on NEC form of contract. Typical projects can be from £15m - £28m in value.

The Team and Role Summary
The Operations team are all long standing members of staff who have grown their respective careers within the business and are therefore very loyal and knowledgeable. Therefore the successful Contracts Manager will be responsible for an established and performing team.

Based in Cambridge and reporting into the Regional Director the Contracts Manager will have a passion for the projects at hand whilst also being able to work within a good and healthy team environment. My client understands this approach is essential to ensure quality finished projects within budget and on time for their customers.

Suitable Applicants
- Will come from a Main Contractor and have proven experience in the Building Construction sector
- Have successfully managed teams and delivered £multi-million profitable projects
- Progressed through the ranks and already be operating at Contracts Manager / Operations Manager level
- Ideally possess a degree AND / OR Chartership with MCIOB / MAPM
- Be based in a commutable distance from Cambridge

Key Duties
- Produce operational reports & attend monthly/quarterly/annual meetings to present contract performance overview
- Provide advice, guidance and support on contract matters
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and manage expenditure within agreed budgets
- Engage, monitor and manage the deployment of appropriate and suitably qualified contractors
- Ultimately ensure that each statutory compliance obligation is invariably met with regards to applicable plant and equipment
- Liaison with Contracts Manager to ensure all conditions of the contract are being met and there is efficient and effective utilisation of labour, materials, plant and equipment within the allocated budgets
- Manage and monitor site activities and physical progress of work for site safety, quality and environmental responsibilities
- Initiate and implement an on-call duty roster to ensure the adequate response to emergency call-outs
- Ensure that the Training matrix is kept up to date and returned monthly - maintain a register of competencies for each member of staff employed and ensure that records of training are maintained
- Formal reporting, which includes; Monthly Internal Regional Budget Income & Expenditure; Monthly/Quarterly/Annual Client liaison & reports and meetings, Formal Site Meetings (weekly/monthly) with Client and Weekly site team briefing meetings with site teams as required

Salary and Package
The client is paying up to £85k basic + car or allowance, pension, healthcare, performance bonus and excellent scope to progress…
