Construction Superintendent

Are you looking for your next, new exciting project? Then we have just the role for you. WRS are looking for a Construction Superintendent to start on the EACOP project. 

EACOP is a 1,443km crude oil export pipeline that will transport Uganda’s crude oil from Kabaale – Hoima in Uganda to the Chongoleani peninsula near Tanga port in Tanzania.

This project is looking to run over the next 3 years and is a fantastic opportunity to work on the longest heated pipeline in the world. 

This role
  • 6 x 2 Rotational 
  • Mobilisation and Demobilisation Premium Economy Flights 
  • Field role, accommodation, food and amenities are all provided 
  • 6 Day working weeks 
  • 10 Hour days
Qualifications Required 

  • Tertiary/Professional qualification in construction management or other Company agreed applicable discipline certifications that support the field and site construction management and execution of the onshore Pipeline and related AGI, MST facilities and EITS infrastructure works scopes
  • A minimum of 15 years greenfield site construction experience working in the Oil & Gas sectors.
  • Demonstrated experience in similar site construction lead roles on large pipeline and process plants.
  • 10 years of construction experience working within a cross-functional oil & gas pipeline project team supporting; field engineering, interface, construction, completions, and commissioning readiness.
  • Experienced in analysing construction metrics to create accurate reporting KPI’s and progress status back to the project management team
Required 
  • Competency and proven experience within EPC 
  • Competency within industry applications such as Assure, OMIE, Aconex, SharePoint, Adobe, MS Office; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio
  • Comprehensive understanding of the project construction strategy and commitments including safety, scheduling, logistics, phasing, milestones, and progress inspections
  • A high focus on identifying and meeting the key project deliverables and objectives.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of compliance, risk controls and site HSE requirements for safe work execution
  • Understanding of critical path and key milestones deliverables within the construction planning programs
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the interpretation of engineering drawings, plans and specifications
  • Demonstrated knowledge & understanding of ASME, API, ISO, IEC about package installations
  • Demonstrated knowledge of system/sub-systems testing, commissioning and completions management
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of flange management & structural bolt torquing methods
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of hydro-testing, flushing, cleaning and box-up
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of LOTO and energy isolation procedures
  • Demonstrated communication skills including the ability to articulate construction concerns and solutions with teams consisting of individuals with various technical and educational backgrounds.
  • Previous experience working with multicultural contractors' and reporting their performance.
  • Staff management experience (knowledge of mentoring and motivation techniques)
