Engineering Lead

Are you an Engineering Lead within the Renewable energy sector looking for a new challenge?

I am recruiting for an Engineering Lead in London or Milan, on behalf of a company born inside the enterprise environment from the ventures of experienced entrepreneurs and professionals, with extensive expertise in the engineering and development of renewable energy projects. From the site selection to administrative framework and contract, up to the supply chain negotiation, they market a solid value to the complex, delicate process that transforms an opportunity into an asset.
They are active in the wind, solar, energy storage, and biomass/biogas markets.

As the Engineering Lead, you will proactively develop the company's wind and solar business in Italy, focusing on the company targets. You will be directly responsible for impacting the company’s growth, profitability and
strategic direction. This position requires regular travel within Italy.

Responsibilities:
⁃ Engineering process supervision of the Italian Wind and Solar pipeline;
⁃ Negotiation of sub-contractor activities and deliverables;
⁃ Communication with relevant stakeholders (DNO, TSO and services providers);
⁃ Development of an in-depth knowledge of the local market legislation, regulations, subsidiary schemes etc.;
⁃ Presentation and reporting on projects towards the internal investment committee;
⁃ Control on costs and cashflow within the development budget.

Requirements:
Development – Deep, proven understanding of ‘greenfield’ development process for wind farm projects in Italy (including site control, securing interconnection, permitting process, etc.). Good knowledge of associated business development costs.
Management – Brilliant Project Management skills on large scale utility size projects.
Energy Markets - Knowledge of the electricity market in Italy, including but not limited to interaction with grid operators (TSO and distribution companies), knowledge of the Italian regulatory framework and development roadmaps.
Wind Technology - Demonstrated knowledge of Wind technology and costs. Basic knowledge of ancillary technologies (e.g. batteries, T&D networks, hybrids, etc.).
Ultimately, having good experience in project development and a virtuous track record when it comes to delivery, contractual negotiation and closing are vital for this role.
Professional or native speaker of English with excellent Italian language skills (written and spoken)
