Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate project scope and key components to create consistent cost estimates.
• Develop detailed cost projections based on project scope, complexity, and economic factors.
• Convert project scope into capital expenditure estimates for design, procurement, and construction.
• Define methodologies for deriving quantities from design parameters (FEED phase).
• Apply capacity factored estimates and location-based adjustments.
• Assess project risks and determine contingency allowances.
• Create material take-off (MTO) estimates with pricing and construction unit hours.
• Prepare cost estimates based on MTO and issued construction drawings.
• Identify uncertainties and apply relevant allowances.
• Manage estimating data, normalizing cost performance metrics for benchmarking.
• Compare estimates against historical data, industry norms, and KPIs.
• Review and prepare Change Order estimates, bids, and contractor estimates.
• Provide cost consultation to internal and external stakeholders.
• Develop multi-discipline cost estimates for capital projects.
• Stay updated on cost estimating developments through literature, contractor interactions, and industry events.
• Review and refine contractor-prepared estimates for accuracy and scope compliance.
• Support project management in bid analysis and contract negotiations.
• Maintain estimating tools and systems, ensuring data confidentiality.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• 10-15 years of estimating experience, with at least 5 years in petrochemical, refinery, pipeline, or power generation projects.
• Familiarity with construction methods, materials, and equipment.
• Knowledge of K Base preferred.
• Experience with estimate setup, coding, and reporting.
• Strong ability to collaborate with teams, vendors, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Proficiency in English (written & verbal).
