Experienced Consultant Power Market Modelling

Are you an experienced Power Market Modelling Consultant? looking to take your career to the next level? 

WRS are looking for a Power Market Modelling Consultant on behalf of our client who is one of the leading consultancy companies in the renewable space. They have offices all across Europe and this role can be remote based with travelling to Bonn required. You will be part of a growing team and will help the further development of the company's power market modelling.

The role will involve:

  • Providing strategic and analytical advice for our clients on (future) energy systems, energy infrastructures, energy markets, emerging energy technologies and business models
  • Supporting consulting projects with a focus on power market modelling, covering topics such as long-term system studies, power market design/analysis, power price forecasts, asset valuation and investment decision support, all the way from proposal preparation right through to project delivery for customers
  • Handling the independent delivery of project tasks or work packages for German and international clients as part of a project team with the opportunity to quickly take on additional project responsibilities
  • Supporting the acquisition of new projects including the preparation of winning proposals and meetings with customers

You will have:

  • Master's degree or PhD with major in Electrical Engineering, Economics, Business Administration or Business Engineering with a specialization in energy
  • Relevant professional work experience on the design and analysis of energy markets gained in consulting, at an energy sector company, research institute, association, think tank, and/or (inter) governmental agency
  • Experience in power market modelling tools and software (PLEXOS or similar tools)
  • Good understanding of European power markets (e.g., wholesale electricity, ancillary services, fuel and carbon markets, market developments and electricity trading)
  • Understanding of (DC) load flow analysis, flow-based capacity allocation and frequency control services
