Field Professional – Geosteering
Location: Stavanger, Norway
About the Role
As a Field Professional – Geosteering, you will play a crucial role in well placement operations, log analysis, and geosteering solutions. Your expertise in Deep or Ultra Deep resistivity tools will be instrumental in optimizing well placement. This position requires strong analytical skills, collaboration, and the ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop pre-well studies for customers, focusing on complex geosteering scenarios.
- Provide real-time monitoring and analysis of Deep and Ultra Deep resistivity data to optimize well placement.
- Deliver customized geosteering solutions for diverse subsurface challenges.
- Conduct post-mortem studies, integrating geological data and tool responses.
- Collaborate with technology teams to enhance geosteering workflows and implement new technologies.
- Innovate and develop new analysis methods within the geosteering discipline.
Qualifications & Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in Geosteering.
- MWD & LWD or drilling operations experience is a plus.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geology or Geophysics.
- Strong experience with LWD conventional tools and well placement.
- Expertise in Deep resistivity tools (Ultra Deep resistivity preferred).
- Familiarity with geoscience and Geosteering software (RoxC, StrataSteer, Decision Space).
- Cloud computing and programming skills are an advantage.
