One of WRS Key Oil Operator Clients is currently looking for 2 Fluids & Cement Superintendent's for its deep water drilling campaign offshore Mozambique. The successful applicants will work back to back on an equal time rotation based in the city of Maputo, Mozambique.
The start date is the end of November 2016 for the first rotation.
-The Fluids and Cement Superintendent is in charge of Fluids, Cement and Management of drilling cuttings specialties.
-Shall prepare the fluids, Cement and Drilling wastes programs in liaison with the drilling manager and his team.
-Shall drive Service Companies to optimize the management of Fluids, Cement and Waste Services in the field and will coordinate actions between the different parties involved in order to ensure that the best procedures are followed.
-Must be able to adapt the programs whenever needed and to propose solutions to overcome technical difficulties or improve operations.
-Shall be responsible for ensuring Service Companies under his supervision fully comply with all HSE requirements and policies of company and chosen drilling contractor
-Shall verify that mud characteristics are in line with the mud program and the requirements of drilling operation, and make sure that the Service Company mud engineer is properly doing such analysis. He/She will take all necessary actions to bring drilling fluids properties back to the required specifications.
-Will be is in charge of preparing cement jobs and supervising their implementation by the relevant Service Company (laboratory tests and calculations).
-Will be responsible for the implementation of the drilling waste treatment plan and shall take all necessary actions to correct or improve performances of same. He/She shall review and report analyses of any equipment failure or non-conformance to services requested.
-Shall make sure that all operations are performed according company rules and/or local regulations regarding the discharge of drilling waste to the environment.
-Will be responsible for maintaining a sufficient stock of drilling mud, drilling mud additives, bulk cement and cement additives on board all the time including safety stocks.
-Shall also liaise closely with Drilling Superintendents and Logistics supervisors to ensure timely delivery of all necessary bulks and products.
-Shall go on the rig site whenever needed to assist the site engineers to overcome mud/cement/drilling problems.
-Shall be responsible to validate the fluids, cement and drilling wastes sections of the daily report and to follow up the daily consumption and associated daily cost. He/She shall be familiar with the report form of the Subsidiary and shall be familiar with the use of Excel and Word software. He/She is in charge to provide the Drilling Manager and/or the Drilling and Completion Superintendent with the final mud, cement and waste treatment reports, phase reports and associated costs. He/She should also attempt to reduce and optimize costs without compromising operational performance
-Shall verify that all job tickets related to mud, cement and waste treatment are in line with the proposed invoices and with the contracts in force.
-Mandatory : fluent in English (spoken and written) / 10 years' experience in Deep water / subsea operations and exploration wells
-Should be a team player and possess good communication skills to improve fluids management on rig locations.
-Should be sensitive to cultural differences between different members of team and be flexible in management style
-Should be able to achieve client objectives through a good coordination between all parties involved.
