FPSO Control System Area Lead Location: China (Shipyard-based, residential)
Duration: 3–4 years

About the Role We are seeking an experienced FPSO Control System Area Lead to join a major offshore energy development. Reporting to the FPSO Technical Manager and working under the coordination of the ICSS Lead, you will take full ownership of the FPSO Control System scope from engineering through procurement, construction, integration, commissioning, and handover.
This is a senior, hands-on role requiring strong technical leadership, excellent coordination skills, and a proactive approach in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary project environment.
Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all activities related to the FPSO Control System within the project team
  • Ensure exemplary behavior and compliance with H3SE standards, ethics, and company codes of conduct
  • Follow up and coordinate engineering activities with contractors and vendors
  • Manage procurement, expediting, and delivery of control system equipment and sub-vendor packages
  • Oversee construction, modularization, integration, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up activities
  • Ensure contractor compliance with contractual, technical, and quality requirements
  • Interface with Engineering, Procurement, QA/QC, Construction, and Commissioning teams
  • Monitor progress, risks, and performance; anticipate issues and propose mitigation measures
  • Coordinate vendors’ mobilization for site activities when required
  • Manage punch lists, task sheets, and ensure timely closure
  • Participate in technical reviews, risk assessments, and studies
  • Maintain clear and regular communication with contractor counterparts
  • Report progress, risks, and technical issues to the FPSO Technical Manager
  • Support smooth handover to Operations & Maintenance teams
  • Prepare lessons learned (REX) documentation for the discipline

Project Environment The role is part of a large-scale offshore development in a dynamic and evolving project organization. The team operates in a highly multidisciplinary environment, with strong focus on safety, technical excellence, schedule optimization, cost control, and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree: Automation Engineering or IT Engineering
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 15 years of professional experience
    • At least 10 years’ experience on major projects (FPSO/offshore preferred)
  • Languages:
    • English: mandatory
    • Chinese and/or French: an advantage
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong control systems and ICSS background
    • Advanced Excel skills
