FPSO Electrical Engineer

One of WRS' major FPSO clients is looking for an electrical engineer to join their existing operation in the Ivory Coast. The role will be based in Aberdeen and will involve frequent trips to the Ivory Coast in line with operational requirements. See role details below:
Core Responsibilities
  • Act as Technical Authority on Electrical equipment on the FPSO
  • Provide support and advice to the offshore maintenance team (RPE) for electrical equipment.
  • Develop maintenance strategy for electrical equipment on the FPSO.
  • Review maintenance system work instructions to ensure that the accurately reflect the maintenance activities that has to be carried. Updating maintenance work instructions when required.
  • Ensuring that electrical equipment is maintained to client standards, Class, flag and coastal state regulations.
  • Ensuring that major services are schedule in the operational plan. With suitable work instructions, spares availability and vendor support.
  • Review electrical equipment performance and identify areas to improve equipment reliability and minimise maintenance costs.
  • Carry out engineering analysis on equipment with poor performance or failures.
  • Review Electrical reading, condition monitor data and techniques. Propose changes to maintenance and operational strategies to improve equipment performance.
  • Manage the ATEX inspection programme.
  • Raise Management Of Change documentation document and formalise any engineering changes as required.
  • Produce work packs for major work scopes and modifications as required.
  • Contribute to technical, safety and failure investigations
Educational and Experience requirements
  • BEng or HND/HNC in Relevant Engineering discipline
  • Extensive experience as an Electrical Engineer in operational support for high voltage power generation, 11kV medium 440V and low 22/1100V distribution systems on FPSO.
  • Extensive experience of managing the maintenance of Hazardous area equipment, familiar with ATEX requirements.
  • Extensive experience of Computer based Maintenance systems, in particular AMOS.
  • Onshore & Offshore experience including FPSO operations.
  • Oil & Gas UK Medical certificate
  • Combined Survival/Fire-fighting/HUET
  • Minimum Industry Safety Training (MIST)
We need the following attributes in candidates:-
  • Based in or around Aberdeen
  • Prepared to travel extensively, there will be extended 2-3+ trips to Abidjan(CDI) intermittently.
  • 10-15 years' experience
  • Africa experience with operational FPSO's will be favourable but also a regulated (UK) background
  • Available ASAP
