Geotechnical Engineer
You will be on a residential basis, based on a well-established Copper Mine in South Africa. You will be responsible for identifying and introducing practises including: undercutting methods, support design, monitoring methods, tools and equipment. You are expected to provide expert geotechnical advice on Undercutting and Drawbell construction also the planning and Operations to lead the company into long term stability.
The position is with a Mining operator, there is a continuous improvement strategy and the work that you do has a progressive impact on the company.
The position is a 2 year contract and they are looking for a highly driven individual who has attention to detail to be a technical support for the Geotechnical engineers.

Must Have:
-Experience with Mining Operators
-Must have experience with Block Cave establishment including undercutting and drawbell construction
-Degree or equivalent in relevant fields of Geology/Mining/Geotech Engineering

Key Responsibilities:
-Design and Assist implementing systems
-Leading Geo-tech team to provide results on time
-Provide quality cost effective solutions within the risk parameters
-Selecting the most relevant ground support using geotechnical assessments
-Continuous Audit systems
