My client are a leading developer and operator within the renewable energy sector with a focus on Onshore Wind projects across Europe. They are looking to add a Grid Manager to their already well established team in the UK.

The purpose of the role is for the Grid Manager to identify the optimal grid connection solution, securing the grid connection agreement and assisting in managing and challenging the associated financial liabilities for their onshore wind portfolio. The role will cover all phases of Onshore wind projects from development through to operation.

Key Responsibilities;

• Secure grid connection agreements (
• or modifications) aligned with the project strategy.
• Negotiate grid technical requirements and preparation of contract documents.
• Carry out grid connection feasibility studies for new sites.
• Identify preferable grid connection solutions considering operational factors such as grid use of system charging, loss adjustments and grid related constraint / curtailment.
• Manage all grid related contracts including ancillary services and point of contact for all grid related issues.
• Stay up to date on Grid development and identify grid services and advice new opportunities.

Essential requirements;

• Knowledge of grid technical connection requirements and commercial policies.
• Ability to suggest alternative (more costs effective or timely) grid connection solutions and to negotiate with external grid companies.
• Project planning and management skills in order to align key grid milestones with wider project delivery.
• Understanding of commercial project requirements and priorities.
