Job Description – IP Operations Expert

Job Summary:
The IP Operations Expert will be responsible for the design, implementation, monitoring, troubleshooting, and management of the IP MPLS/SRv6 network infrastructure for an Internet Service Provider (ISP) and Telecommunications Transport Provider. This role requires a high level of technical expertise in network operations, architecture, performance optimization, and security, ensuring seamless connectivity and operational excellence
Responsibilities:
- Installing, operating and maintenance, design device deployment, IP distributing of IP network elements (Routers, switches and firewall) and physical layer elements (rack, cabling, connecters, SFP, Patch Cords, ODF connection to network elements).
- Handling switching, routing and security issues in IP network.
- Any change in the IP network elements (add, remove, activation, change the configuration) should be performed via CR.
- Integrating and implementing IP based services on the main network till edge (customer) Routers.
- Performing routine (daily, weekly and monthly) maintenance and whole network elements health checking.
- Providing IP network support for services and handling outage report issued by monitoring NOC.
- Troubleshoot IP network issues and report to unit supervision and head of department.
- Ensure service high availability for customers.
- Cooperative with the customers regarding IP issues.
- Coordinating with other departments (Planning, Fiber Optic, NOC, DWDM and Marketing)
- Documentation, labeling and diagram preparation for whole IP network and updating for new added services.
- IP distribution, arrangement and design for IP network.
- Provide technical support for network 24×7.
- Perform other job-related as assigned.
Requirement:
- Good academic background with a B.Sc. or equivalent qualification in Communication, IT, Computer science or relevant subject.
- Extensive relevant technical experience with a large Telecom/ISP network or in a similar role.
- Knowledge and practical experience with IP Protocols i.e. BGP/EBGP, ISIS, OSPF, MPLS, SR MPLS, SRv6. CCIE Certified is preferred.
- Fluent in English, Kurdish and Arabic Languages.
- Ability to work in a team.
- Very good management and leadership skills.
