Land Manager
 
WRS are recruiting for a Land Manager to join an experienced renewable energy developer in London, UK, you will ideally be based in the North of England and have experience in land negotiation contracts for Renewable projects. 

This position will be responsible for Managing the development of a solar/wind/BESS project within budget, from any stage up until a ready to build state, dealing with any appeal process and discharge of relevant planning conditions.

Requirements
  • High level of commercial acumen and good negotiating skills
  • Good relationship-building skills; Loves going out talking to landowners and doing deals
  • Good problem-solving skills, creative and pro-active
  • Familiarity with preparing and negotiating HOTS
  • (Ideally) has familiarity with negotiating landowner legal agreements
  • (Ideally) proficient at MS Excel, able to produce cash flow spreadsheets, and understands what an NPV and IRR are
  • (Ideally) has an understanding of current onshore wind farm market rents/structures and overall project economics
 
Responsibilities
  • Negotiating commercial terms and HOTS with project landowners (for turbines, pv, BESS, access and grid lines) in collaboration with PMs
  • Negotiating commercial terms with other project stakeholders (e.g. crofters, tenants, neighbouring developers) in collaboration with PMs
  • Building and managing relationships with project landowners alongside PMs, including portfolio level administration of rights and fulfilment of obligations
  • Building and maintaining relationships with industry land stakeholders, including land agents and public agencies
  • Modelling project economics to determine the commercial terms to offer landowners and inform design
  • Negotiating legal agreements to give effect to commercial terms (in conjunction with the company’s legal council and external lawyers)
  • Providing “commercial input” to legal agreements
  • Managing tenders for new projects
  • Community liaison
  • Selling consented BES/PV sites
  • Commercial negotiations with ESB when required (CODA variations etc)
  • Prospecting for new sites
