M&A Manager Offshore Wind and Hydrogen

Job description

Currently in search of a highly motivated and innovative candidate that can be responsible for managing successful business development activities and for leading complex transactions relating to the merger and acquisition of offshore wind, hydrogen and energy storage projects. 
 
This is a critical role within the overall Asset Development team which will play a big part in achieving the ambition of a net zero position by 2040 and a 5GW renewable generation footprint by 2030. The successful candidate will be commercially driven and have a track record of successfully managing M&A processes.

Responsibilities include:
  • Leading business development activities, seeking merger and acquisition opportunities in the UK and Ireland in Offshore Wind and Hydrogen.  Development, management and responsibility of the business case for assigned acquisitions
  • Lead the negotiation of key transaction documentation such as Share Purchase Agreements, Shareholders’ Agreements and Development Services Agreements;
  • Manage the entire (commercial, technical and legal) due diligence process.  Work closely with the Commercial and Finance teams to ensure the projects are being optimised from inception/acquisition right through to financial close.
  • Together with the wider Asset Development team build and maintain relationships with key external stakeholders and JV partners businesses on behalf of each of the potential acquisitions.
Essential Criteria:
  • 10 years relevant experience
  • Strong commercial focus having a clear understanding of large renewable/storage projects.
  • A track record in new business development initiatives, with relevant experience in managing the development of energy generation projects.
  • Understanding of power (particularly renewable) generation business.
