We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Material Controller to support construction operations on an LNG bunkering project. The role is critical in managing the flow of materials to ensure timely availability, proper storage, accurate tracking, and efficient distribution of construction materials on-site, supporting overall project execution and schedule.
 
Key Responsibilities:
 

  • Manage the receipt, inspection, storage, tracking, and issuance of construction materials and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records using site-based material tracking systems and ensure all transactions are properly logged.
  • Coordinate with procurement, logistics, construction, and warehouse teams to ensure timely delivery of materials to work fronts.
  • Perform regular stock checks, cycle counts, and reconcile discrepancies between physical and recorded inventory.
  • Monitor material usage and forecast material needs based on construction schedules and look-ahead plans.
  • Ensure proper tagging, labeling, and storage of materials in accordance with safety and quality standards.
  • Review and verify delivery documentation including packing lists, material test certificates (MTCs), and purchase orders.
  • Generate material status reports for management, highlighting shortages, overstock, or critical items.
  • Identify and manage surplus, damaged, or obsolete materials and initiate return or disposal processes as required.
  • Enforce site material control procedures, including preservation, handling, and traceability requirements.

 
Qualifications & Experience:
 

  • Minimum 4–6 years of experience in material control or warehouse operations on major construction or oil & gas projects (LNG experience preferred).
  • Technical diploma or certification in logistics, supply chain, engineering, or related field.
  • Familiarity with construction materials, piping components, structural steel, and equipment used in LNG or energy projects.
  • Proficient in inventory software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.); experience with systems like SAP, SmartPlant Materials, or similar is an asset.
  • Knowledge of international codes and standards related to material traceability and preservation (e.g., ASTM, API, ASME).
