Position: Assistant Engineer – Mechanical
Working shift: 12hr shifts 
Location: Kirkuk 
working days: 4 days a week

Job Summary:
The Mechanical Engineer (Process Equipment) will support the maintenance, troubleshooting, and performance optimization of critical process machinery. The role focuses on ensuring the reliability and efficiency of 20-ton TP UHT, 8-ton pasteurizer, heat exchangers, GEA sterilizer, steam traps, steam regulating valves, mixing funnels, tanks with agitators, and homogenizers. The candidate will work closely with the mechanical maintenance team to minimize downtime and enhance operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Process Equipment Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
    • Assist in the preventive and corrective maintenance of UHT (20-ton TP), pasteurizers (8-ton), heat exchangers, and sterilizers (GEA).
    • Troubleshoot mechanical issues in steam traps, regulating valves, homogenizers, and mixing funnels.
    • Conduct inspections, lubrication, and adjustments to ensure smooth operation.
    • Steam & Utility Systems Support:
      • Assist in maintaining and troubleshooting steam traps and steam regulating valves to ensure stable pressure control.
      • Support optimization and efficiency improvements in heat exchange systems and sterilization units.
      • Tanks & Agitators Maintenance:
        • Ensure the proper operation of mixing tanks and agitators to maintain product consistency.
        • Perform mechanical inspections, bearing replacements, and motor alignment for tank equipment.
        • Process Optimization & Equipment Reliability:
          • Support root cause analysis for mechanical failures and propose corrective actions.
          • Assist in implementing continuous improvement initiatives for better performance and energy efficiency.
          • Safety & Compliance:
            • Follow mechanical safety standards and company policies to ensure a safe working environment.
            • Ensure compliance with food industry regulations and maintenance protocols.
            • Documentation & Reporting:
              • Maintain records of maintenance activities, spare parts usage, and equipment performance.
              • Assist in preparing reports on process system reliability and improvement recommendations.

              Qualifications & Requirements:

              • Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
              • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably in the FMCG or Beverages industry.
              • Technical Skills:
                • Hands-on experience with UHT (TP), pasteurizers, heat exchangers, homogenizers, and sterilizers (GEA).
                • Knowledge of steam systems, valves, agitators, and process piping.
                • Ability to read and follow the P&ID.
                • Understanding of mechanical troubleshooting, alignment, and lubrication techniques.
                • Soft Skills:
                  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
                  • Ability to work in a team and handle multiple maintenance tasks efficiently.
                  • Good communication and reporting skills.
