Mechanical QC Inspector (QAC09) – LNG Bunkering Project

About the Project This LNG Bunkering Project in Oman aims to develop a regional hub for LNG bunkering services, supplying LNG as fuel to marine vessels. The project will source feed gas from an existing equity gas entitlement.
The Role: Mechanical QC Inspector We are seeking an experienced Mechanical QC Inspector to oversee quality control activities for mechanical works at the project’s construction site. Under the supervision of the Site Quality Lead, this role ensures compliance with contractual and technical standards during Construction, Pre-commissioning, and Commissioning phases.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and inspect mechanical construction activities to ensure quality and safety compliance.
- Review and approve drawings, fabrication procedures, and methodologies of Contractors and Subcontractors.
- Ensure adequate equipment, manpower, and resources are available for execution.
- Conduct routine and random inspections, audits, and HSE visits.
- Monitor welding, painting/coating, and NDT techniques to ensure compliance.
- Track and report non-conformities, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
- Support the pre-commissioning team in preparation for commissioning activities.
- Interface with Site Construction teams, Quality Leads, and Contractors for QC matters.
- Maintain proper traceability of materials and ensure compliance with project documentation.
- Prepare and submit weekly and monthly QA/QC reports with key performance indicators.
Requirements
- Minimum 15 years of QA/QC experience in mechanical construction.
- At least 10 years in a similar role, preferably in LNG projects.
- Qualifications: HNC or equivalent, with PCN/ISO 9712, CSWIP, or AWS CWI certification.
- Strong expertise in welding, painting/coating, NDT techniques, and LNG construction.
- Experience in audits, contractor management, and risk assessment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Email).
- Fluent in English (mandatory).
