Principal Design Engineer
Based in the Kingston office on a Hybrid working model 
Right to work in the UK required

We are seeking an experienced Principal Design Engineer to join a dynamic team in the engineering industry, specializing in cutting-edge infrastructure and plant design. This role is focused on delivering safe and sustainable engineering solutions for complex projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform detailed Finite Element (FE) analysis.
• Engage in the design of subsea pipeline and spools, addressing critical aspects such as wall thickness, stability, bottom roughness, and freespan considerations.
• Apply comprehensive knowledge of structural analysis (statics, dynamics, and fatigue) as well as installation and constructability in pipeline systems.
• Utilize your expertise in subsea engineering and software tools for high-quality project delivery.

Skills and Experience Required:

• A degree in civil, structural, or mechanical engineering.
• Extensive experience in subsea engineering and strong knowledge of typical subsea software tools.
• Proficiency in FE analysis for pipeline design and understanding of structural dynamics and fatigue in subsea environments.

Qualifications and Preferred Software:

• Degree in civil, structural, or mechanical engineering.
• Hands-on experience with FEA software such as Orcaflex, ANSYS, and ABAQUS (2D shell and 3D solid elements).
• Familiarity with DNV SESAM, Sage Profile 2D, and AutoPIPE is advantageous.
