We are currently seeking applications for the role of Project Director, located to the east of the Shetland Isles.  The successful applicant will be responsible for all aspects of overall project delivery including the development of a business case, technical leadership, commercial management, planning consent and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities include:

• Provide leadership and direction to assigned project teams in delivery
• Promote and foster a strong team culture and open and transparent communication within the project team, the development partner, Engineering and Major Projects
• Ensure effective delivery of project in line with internal rigorous project management methodologies
• Report to the Project Board and the AD management team in line with governance procedures, ensuring that the Board Members are informed of relevant risks and issues across the programme and that required decisions are taken in the necessary timeframe;

Essential experience includes:

• Strong commercial focus, having a clear understanding of the business case for generation projects
• Financial skill to appraise project returns and profitability.
• A track record in delivering projects and new business development initiatives, with relevant experience in managing the development of energy generation projects.
• 3rd level qualification in engineering, business or finance.
• At least 10 years postgraduate experience
• Understanding of the power generation business
