At WRS we are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a company that is dedicated to solving the planets toughest challenges in climate change, the energy transition and the digital transformation. I am looking for a Sales Manager to join their Field Service business. You will need to be based in the Humber Region with a good network in the energy, chemicals, resources or water sectors.
For this role the main aims and objectives are:
  • Support the Operations Director, Senior Team, Sales and BD Function lead.
  • Support fabrication and construction business sales activities in line with the growth strategy.
  • Support the conversion of business opportunities into orders for the fabrication, construction, O&M sector.
  • Manage the growth of local and sector customer and revenue base.
  • Identify and win new opportunities within FS business sectors.
  • Work collaboratively with the FS operations and business support teams.
  • Have a continuous improvement mindset, identify gaps and opportunities.
  • Ensure safe successful delivery of all activities within area of responsibility.
For this role the main responsibilities include:
  • Line manager of the estimating team, supporting local FS quotes and bids.
  • Support proposals for FS bids. Linking between sales function and internal teams, including estimating.
  • Commercial and contractual duties required to complete a sale.
  • Identify leads and opportunities that will provide numerous revenues growth.
  • Support the win strategies focusing on digitization and utilization of Global Integrated Delivery.
  • Work pro-actively with stakeholders to ensure an aligned approach to maximise the benefit to all the business.
  • Identify and attend new customer meetings, selling current and new services.
  • Manage key stakeholders in the delivery of own income streams and apply key account management techniques to ensure the company are held up as a benchmark partner in all markets.
  • Maximise opportunities with current customer base to increase turnover.
  • Understand client’s needs and propose new services to management.
  • Work as an active SME to build relationships and diversified offerings.
  • Monitor, measure, maintain and report with customer success platform, aligned to organisational development plans and achievements.
  • Attend supplier forums and delivering presentations on services as required.
  • Representing the company at conferences, industry events, meetings.
A successful candidate will possess the following:
  • Fabrication and Construction industry experience is essential.
  • Experience of successfully pursuing and leading a variety of fabrication and construction related opportunities across regions and sectors.
  • Strong technical experience working with clients on projects in fabrication and construction.
  • Track record of business growth and strategy implementation.
  • Ability to be a ‘do-er seller’ working both outside and inside sales.
  • Strong financial and commercial knowledge and experience.
  • Demonstrable record in the delivery of successful opportunities.
  • Ability to effectively balance multiple priorities.
  • Good motivator with excellent communication and people skills.
  • A self-starter with enthusiasm to succeed and contribute to the Operating Unit’s profit and ensure quality is maintained
  • Effective sales, marketing and PR skills with good negotiation skills.
  • An understanding of manufacturing processes and construction methods.
  • Good problem-solving skills and a creative flair.
  • Excellent organisational, planning, time management, and presentation skills.
