Job Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic team in San Antonio, TX. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned electrical engineer with experience in large-scale projects across multiple sectors such as municipal/aviation, education, healthcare, and commercial office. The projects you’ll work on range from $2 million to $1 billion, with a particular focus on convention centers and major capital projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the electrical design for large-scale projects, ensuring effective and efficient electrical systems integration
- Collaborate with other MEP disciplines, architects, and contractors throughout the project lifecycle
- Manage the electrical portion of the projects from conceptual design through construction
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and team members
- Develop and review detailed electrical designs, including power distribution, lighting systems, fire alarm systems, and backup power systems
- Manage client relationships, ensuring satisfaction and effective communication
- Ensure all designs adhere to local codes, standards, and sustainable design practices (including LEED/WELL certifications)
- Supervise and coordinate with contractors and vendors to ensure high-quality execution of electrical systems
Qualification Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution
- Current Professional Engineering (PE) License
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a licensed Professional Engineer
- 10+ years of electrical design experience in municipal/aviation, education, healthcare, and commercial office sectors
- 7+ years of hands-on electrical design experience
- 3+ years of project management experience in electrical design projects
- 3+ years of supervisory experience directly over an electrical design team
- Ability to obtain Texas Professional Engineering License within 3 months of hire (if not already licensed in Texas)
- LEED and WELL certifications are a plus
