Senior Mechanical Engineer
Kurdistan
12-Month Contract (Renewable)
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with company HSE standards and procedures
- Develop mechanical scopes, specifications, ITTs, and material requisitions
- Oversee tender evaluations, contract awards, and purchase order execution
- Review vendor documents and support FAT/SAT activities
- Manage contractor performance to meet operational and technical requirements
- Lead mechanical engineering team and support other disciplines as needed
- Plan and track engineering deliverables and report progress to management
- Apply knowledge of international codes and standards
- Support project planning, scheduling, cost estimates, and reporting
- Ensure equipment meets technical specs, timelines, and budget
- Participate in equipment inspections and control systems testing
- Complete and finalize vendor documentation
- Contribute to HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, and design reviews
- Specify and procure materials for instrumentation scopes
- Experience with Operator environments is a plus
- Knowledge of high H2S systems and NACE standards
- Proficient in both static and rotating equipment
Experience:
- 20+ years in mechanical engineering roles
- Prior experience as Lead Engineer
- Direct involvement in design and construction phases
- Strong communication skills and team collaboration in multi-disciplinary settings
- Fluent in English (spoken and written)
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required
- Chartered Engineer status preferred
