Senior Mechanical Engineer
Location: San Antonio, TX
Compensation: Competitive salary starting at $145,000 (based on experience)

Job Overview:
We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team in San Antonio, TX. This role will focus on large-scale projects in sectors like municipal/aviation, education, healthcare, and commercial office. These projects range from $2 million to $1 billion, with a special emphasis on convention centers and other major capital projects. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will take the lead in mechanical design while providing mentorship and oversight to junior team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead mechanical system design for large-scale projects, including HVAC, plumbing, and load calculations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects, electrical engineers, and contractors, to ensure integrated systems solutions
- Manage mechanical designs from conceptual planning through construction completion
- Provide oversight and direction to junior engineers, helping them grow professionally
- Develop and review detailed mechanical designs to meet project requirements and adhere to relevant codes and standards
- Work closely with clients to ensure project goals and expectations are met
- Ensure all mechanical systems are designed for energy efficiency, sustainability, and compliance with applicable regulations
- Oversee project scheduling, budgeting, and coordination of mechanical components across multiple teams
- Provide technical leadership and guidance on innovative mechanical system solutions
Qualification Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution
- Current Professional Engineering (PE) License
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a licensed Professional Engineer
- 10+ years of mechanical design experience in municipal/aviation, education, healthcare, and commercial office sectors
- 7+ years of hands-on mechanical design experience (HVAC, plumbing, load calculations, etc.)
- 3+ years of project management experience overseeing mechanical design projects
- 3+ years of supervisory experience directly over a mechanical design team
- Ability to obtain Texas Professional Engineering License within 3 months of hire (if not already licensed in Texas)
- LEED and WELL certifications are a plus
