I am currently recruiting on behalf of one of Ireland's lead developers within the Renewable Energy sector looking for a Senior Environmental Consenting Specialist. Your focus will be on their offshore wind portfolio in Ireland and the UK.

You will be leading environmental inputs necessary for consenting of large scale offshore wind projects around Ireland and the UK.

Key Responsibilities;

• Be the lead authority on marine environmental expertise within the organisation and lead the strategy for environmental aspects of offshore projects
• Own and maintain significant up to date knowledge and understanding of marine environmental requirements, risks, challenges, and solutions, including the development and delivery of EIA, EIAR and AA for planning applications
• Provide deep technical environmental offshore wind expertise to the business during project concept and development and across the project lifecycle and when assessing potential acquisition projects and entering competitive leasing processes
• Provide key strategic input in project concept and developments of expertise across the offshore wind project pipeline

Essential requirements;

• Level 8 Environmental or Science Degree or equivialent qualification
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in the area of environmental consenting particularly within the marine environment
• A proven track record of delivering environmental consent requirements for significant projects, including in the marine environment
• In depth knowledge and experience of the consenting process of major developments (Strategic Infrastructure Development Act, Environmental Impact Assessment process, assessment under the EU Habitats Directive process and/or Foreshore Licensing)
• The ability to report and provide strategic advice to the Project Board(s)/Senior Managers on critical project technical matters
