SQL Delivery Architect

Our company has partnered with an international Technology Consulting Company to source for their technology delivery team. This role will be based in the Singapore office.

Job Responsibilities

• Determines database structural requirements by analyzing client operations, applications, and programming; reviewing objectives with clients; evaluating current systems.
• Design, maintain and build conceptual, logical and physical database models.
• Define database architecture, design, and creation, optimization, deriving conversion and migration methods for existing data, and developing automated conversion and migration methods.
• Drive a technology specialty area, such as Data Warehouse or Data Analytics.
• Develops database solutions by designing proposed system; defining database physical structure and functional capabilities, security, back-up, and recovery specifications.
• Understands waterfall or agile software development to deliver software.
• Assist with solving technical problems when they arise.
• Acts as the escalation point for all issues specific to area of responsibility.
• Coordinates with project leads to deliver within the framework of the given project estimate and assumptions.
• Communicates effectively with clients to identify needs and helps team evaluate alternative technical solutions.
• Identifies opportunities for improvement and makes constructive suggestions for change.
• Encourages the process of innovative change effectively.
• Pro-actively defines and leads improvement initiatives in internal processes along with possible solutions.

 
Job Requirements
 

• 5 years’ experience in a data analysis or data management role, preferably SQL Server.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics or related degree.
• Experience with Azure cloud platform
• Experience working with large relational databases and/or data warehouses.
• Familiarity with concepts such as denormalization and normalization.
• Ability to analyze existing database schema DDL/instance layout and determine impacts migrating to new target schema/instance environment.
• Strong experience in Business Process Modeling (BPM).
• Demonstrated skill in a specialty area, such as Data Warehousing or Analytics.
• Participate in project kick off calls at the start of the project to ensure correct alignment and delivery requirements.
• RFP response support and review of potential delivery and resource requirements, helping define delivery scope and approach.
• Experience with high availability database solutions, such as SQL Server clustering.
• Ability to create data schema, create necessary tables and procedures and assign permission to the database.
• Knowledge about data backup, mirroring and clustering.
• Experience planning, installing, configuring, maintaining and monitoring production of database instances.
• Experience providing database support by coding utilities, responding to user questions, and resolving problems.
• Develops lasting relationships with client personnel that foster client ties.
