Job Title: Start-Up Support Supervisor – CPF Operations Sector: Oil & Gas | Onshore Production Facilities

Duration: 18 months+
Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Start-Up Support Supervisor to support the start-up and early operations of a large-scale Central Processing Facility (CPF) in a remote and environmentally sensitive location. The role is critical to ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant start-up of complex production systems within a multicultural and high-risk operational environment.
The successful candidate will play a key role during both the project/start-up phase and the operational phase, working closely with the Start-Up Leader and Production Superintendent. This position requires strong leadership, deep operational expertise, and the ability to perform under demanding conditions, including SIMOPS (Simultaneous Operations).
Key Responsibilities Start-Up & Project Phase

  • Become fully familiar with site systems, process facilities, and operating philosophies
  • Review operating manuals, test procedures, leak test procedures, and start-up documentation
  • Prepare start-up sequences, marked-up P&IDs, and contribute to black start procedures
  • Develop Level 4 start-up and operating procedures using approved digital tools
  • Prepare operator checklists, shift reports, routine task lists, and pre-start-up documentation
  • Support ESP start-up preparation and operating readiness
  • Coordinate with site training teams to deliver on-the-job training (OJT) for operators

Operational & Production Phase

  • Act as Delegated Operating Authority following handover of systems
  • Ensure safe working conditions through toolbox talks, LMRA, safety rounds, and housekeeping
  • Lead PTW activities, including opening and closing high-risk permits
  • Manage SIMOPS mitigation measures and ensure compliance with HSE requirements
  • Supervise isolations, pressure testing, flushing, and commissioning activities
  • Drive CPF start-up execution and ramp-up in line with approved procedures
  • Oversee daily production operations, sampling, chemical injection, and logistics coordination
  • Ensure accurate daily and weekly production reporting and shift handovers
  • Lead response to abnormal operating conditions and production losses
  • Contribute to incident investigations, ESD reporting, and root cause analyses
  • Maintain and update operational and engineering documentation

Team Leadership & Training

  • Supervise CPF field operators and control room operators
  • Organize crew changes and ensure robust shift handovers
  • Coach and mentor production personnel to improve competency and performance
  • Support performance assessments and skills development initiatives

HSE & Accountability

  • Ensure safe and compliant start-up and operation of facilities
  • Uphold company HSE policies, PTW systems, SIMOPS requirements, and code of conduct
  • Actively participate in risk assessments, audits, and safety meetings
  • Serve as a member of the Emergency Response Team (ERT)
  • Promote a strong safety culture and lead by example

Candidate Profile Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma of Higher Education, BTCE, or equivalent
  • Formal training in operational safety, production operations, and well operations
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in Oil & Gas operations
  • At least 3 years in a similar supervisory or start-up role
  • Strong knowledge of CPF operations and onshore production facilities
  • Proven experience with ESP operations
  • Solid understanding of DCS-based process control systems
  • Strong working knowledge of PTW, SIMOPS, and HSE management systems
