What you will be doing:
- Responsible for developing cost estimates and preparing and/or coordinating the preparation of estimates on projects as required by client’s documents.
- Reviews construction documents and understands scope of work to bid
- Executes take-offs of construction documents
- Obtains pricing for materials
- Obtains bids from subcontractors
- Properly evaluates and scope materials, vendors, and subcontractors for compliance with bidding documents
- Prepares cost analysis by recapitulating material, labor, equipment, subcontractor, and overhead cost
- Maintain documents and plans
What you need for this position:
- 3+ years of HVAC/Plumbing estimating experience in commercial work
- Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret drawings – architectural, structural, and mechanical plans and be familiar with a variety of HVAC systems and terminology
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products
- QuickPen experience helpful
- Have strong organizational and analytical skills
- Self-motivated; possess a sense of urgency in completing assignments
- Takes pride in work and accepts a level of responsibility for professionalism and accuracy
- Consistently set goals and meet deadlines
