Job Title: FPSO Process Area Engineer – Yard-Based (China) Location: Tianjin, China (with potential travel to other shipyards)
Start Date: October 2025
Duration: 12 months (renewable)
Work Pattern: Monday–Friday, Residential
We are seeking an experienced FPSO Process Area Engineer to join the construction execution phase of a major offshore project. The successful candidate will play a key role in overseeing process system fabrication, assembly, and integration activities at a leading shipyard in China, ensuring delivery in line with project technical, safety, quality, and schedule requirements.
Note: This role is open to Chinese nationals only.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and monitor FPSO process area construction activities at the yard, ensuring compliance with approved specifications and project standards.
  • Review engineering drawings, specifications, and method statements to ensure technical alignment.
  • Coordinate and support pre-commissioning and testing of process systems and equipment.
  • Ensure contractors and subcontractors comply with HSE and QA/QC requirements.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues during construction, working closely with engineering and yard teams.
  • Participate in inspections, FATs, and SATs for process equipment.
  • Provide regular progress reporting and technical input to the Project Management Team.
  • Liaise with multi-discipline teams (mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, structural) for smooth system integration.
  • Support punch list clearance and handover to commissioning teams.

Candidate Profile:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Process, or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Experience:
    • 5–8 years’ relevant experience in FPSO, offshore oil & gas, or large industrial projects.
    • Proven track record in yard-based construction, fabrication supervision, and process equipment integration.
    • Familiarity with process equipment such as separators, heat exchangers, pumps, compressors, and flare systems.
    • Knowledge of international standards (API, ASME, ISO) and QA/QC procedures.
  • Skills:
    • Strong technical and troubleshooting capabilities in process systems.
    • Effective communication and coordination skills.
    • Fluent in Mandarin and English (technical reporting in English required).
    • Able to work independently and take ownership of assigned areas.
  • Prior experience in multicultural yard environments is a strong advantage.
