Electrical Engineer – MEP / Building Systems (Confidential) Location: New Orleans, LA (Onsite)

A reputable MEP engineering firm in New Orleans, LA is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join its onsite team. This confidential opportunity focuses on the design, coordination, and delivery of electrical building systems for commercial and institutional projects.
Role Overview The Electrical Engineer will support the design and documentation of power distribution, lighting, and low-voltage systems from concept through construction. The ideal candidate has experience in MEP consulting, Revit-based electrical design, and exposure to Trimble coordination or modeling tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Design electrical systems for commercial and institutional buildings, including power, lighting, and low-voltage systems
- Perform load calculations, circuiting, and panel schedules
- Develop construction documents using Revit MEP and AutoCAD
- Coordinate electrical designs with mechanical, plumbing, and architectural teams
- Utilize Trimble tools for coordination, modeling, or field integration (preferred)
- Participate in project meetings and internal design reviews
- Support construction administration, including RFIs and submittal reviews
- Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA, and local electrical codes
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- 3+ years of experience in MEP / electrical consulting engineering
- Strong proficiency in Revit (required)
- Experience with Trimble software or coordination tools (preferred)
- Solid understanding of power distribution, lighting systems, and electrical codes
- EIT or PE preferred (or ability to obtain licensure)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
