FPSO LER (Local Equipment Room) & HVAC Area Lead – China
Location: Qidong, China
12-Month Contract (Renewable)
Residential basis, 5 day working week

We are supporting a major offshore development project and are looking for an experienced FPSO LER & HVAC Area Lead to join the team during the execution phase. This is a key leadership role within the FPSO topsides scope, responsible for overseeing the delivery of Local Equipment Room (LER) and HVAC systems through engineering, construction, and commissioning. Reporting to the FPSO Topsides Manager, you will act as the focal point for all LER and HVAC-related activities, ensuring systems are delivered safely, on time, and in line with project specifications and international standards. You’ll be heavily involved in yard-based activities, working closely with contractors to drive performance and ensure readiness for offshore commissioning and start-up.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all LER and HVAC activities across engineering, construction, and commissioning phases
- Act as the main interface between project teams, contractors, and subcontractors
- Ensure design compliance with project specifications and international standards
- Oversee installation, integration, and system integrity of LER (including E&I and HVAC systems)
- Supervise pre-commissioning and onshore commissioning activities
- Support preparation for offshore commissioning and start-up
- Coordinate closely with Topsides, Construction, and Commissioning teams
- Monitor contractor performance and ensure timely delivery of high-quality deliverables
- Provide technical guidance, resolve issues, and drive continuous improvement
- Ensure strong HSE compliance across all activities
Candidate Profile
- Degree in Engineering or relevant technical discipline
- 10–15 years’ experience in offshore oil & gas projects (FPSO experience essential)
- Strong expertise in HVAC systems (mandatory) within industrial or offshore environments
- Minimum 5 years’ yard/site experience in fabrication, construction, and installation
- Good knowledge of:
- LER systems and integration
- International codes and engineering standards
- Proven ability to manage contractors and multidisciplinary teams
- Strong problem-solving, coordination, and communication skills
- Experience working in multicultural project environments
