Position: Mechanical Project Manager

Compensation: $115,000 – $175,000 + Bonus + Benefits
Overview A leading mechanical contractor in the San Francisco Bay Area is seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to oversee complex HVAC and plumbing projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role offers the opportunity to manage high-profile commercial projects while working with a well-established, growth-oriented team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead full lifecycle project management including preconstruction, budgeting, scheduling, execution, and closeout
- Maintain ownership of project financials, including cost control, forecasting, and profitability
- Develop and manage detailed project schedules using tools such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project
- Serve as the primary point of contact for general contractors, owners, and key stakeholders
- Coordinate with field teams, superintendents, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure successful project delivery
- Drive solutions in real time to support jobsite operations and mitigate risks
- Oversee contract administration, change orders, RFIs, and submittals
- Ensure compliance with union requirements, safety standards, and company policies
- Mentor and develop Project Engineers and junior staff to support long-term team growth
- Maintain a strong understanding of project scope, ensuring alignment between design, field execution, and client expectations
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical construction project management (HVAC and/or plumbing)
- Proven track record managing commercial, healthcare, life sciences, or mixed-use construction projects
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, MEP systems, and coordination
- Proficiency in construction management software including Procore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and Viewpoint/Vista
- Experience with budgeting, estimating, and cost control practices
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interface with clients, field personnel, and executive leadership
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferred
