Job Title: Layer 3 Security Coordinator (Rotational Role)

We are currently seeking an experienced Layer 3 Security Coordinator to support complex operations in a high-risk, remote environment. This is a rotational, field-based position requiring strong leadership, operational coordination, and a deep understanding of security protocols in challenging conditions.
Role Overview Reporting to the Security Deputy Manager, you will play a critical role in coordinating security operations across designated areas, ensuring safe logistical movement, and maintaining compliance with security procedures and human rights standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and secure all logistics and convoy movements within designated operational zones (Layer 3 areas)
- Organise and manage contractor convoys, including escort arrangements and adherence to security protocols
- Monitor and assess daily security threats, providing timely and accurate reporting to management
- Ensure full compliance with Security SOPs and the Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights (VPSHR)
- Liaise daily with military personnel, local authorities, contractors, and communities to maintain secure operations
- Support and oversee socioeconomic and stabilization activities, ensuring appropriate security coverage
- Mentor and guide Protection Force personnel to maintain high operational standards
- Produce daily situation reports, incident logs, and updates on threat levels and logistics status
- Monitor consumption of key supplies (fuel, food, water) within operational areas
- Promote a strong safety culture aligned with HSE standards and “12 Golden Rules”
Accountabilities
- Ensure safe and efficient execution of all Layer 3 security operations
- Maintain clear communication on security risks and escalation procedures
- Guarantee contractor compliance with all security and operational regulations
- Support coordination with Joint Task Force (JTF) and ensure adherence to SOPs
- Provide accurate reporting on equipment, personnel, and operational readiness
Candidate Requirements
- Proven background in military or police service (minimum Senior NCO level)
- Demonstrated experience working alongside military and security forces
- Fluency in English, Portuguese, and Swahili (additional local language skills are advantageous)
- Strong understanding of security operations in high-risk or remote environments
- Valid driver’s license and passport
- Basic computer literacy (Windows-based systems)
- Clean criminal record
- Minimum high school education
Working Conditions
- Rotational assignment in a remote, high-risk environment
- Tropical climate with physically demanding conditions and long working hours
- 24/7 availability may be required in emergency situations
- Camp-based living with restricted movement outside designated areas
- Accommodation, meals, and essential facilities provided on-site
- Location classified as a high malaria-risk zone – strict adherence to health precautions required
