Lead Drilling Contracts Engineer – Dubai
On behalf of an independent Oil & Gas operator, WRS are looking for a Lead Drilling Contracts Engineer to work in Dubai on a permanent basis. The role will be fully residential in Dubai, paying a monthly salary in USD, focusing on onshore assets in Iraq.
Job Duties:
- Contract Management: Manage the full lifecycle of drilling contracts from initiation to completion, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Negotiation: Lead negotiations with vendors and contractors to secure favorable terms and conditions that align with project objectives and budget constraints.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate contractual risks associated with drilling operations, ensuring proactive measures are in place to protect the company’s interests.
- Vendor Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors and suppliers, fostering a collaborative environment to achieve operational excellence.
- Cost Optimization: Work closely with finance and project teams to optimize costs associated with drilling contracts, identifying opportunities for savings without compromising quality and safety.
- Legal Compliance: Stay updated with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards pertaining to drilling contracts in Iraq, ensuring adherence across all activities.
Candidate Expectations:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field. Advanced degree or certification in Contract Management is a plus.
- Proven experience (15+ years) in drilling contract management within the oil and gas industry, with specific exposure to operations in Iraq preferred.
- Experience working for an Oil & Gas operator
- Strong negotiation skills with a track record of successfully managing complex contracts and vendor relationships.
- In-depth knowledge of drilling operations, contract law, and procurement processes.
