Cost Engineer – Dubai

We are supporting the delivery of a major offshore gas field development project and are looking for an experienced Cost Engineer to join the Project Management Team (PMT). This role will play a key part in cost control, forecasting, reporting, and change management activities throughout the EPC execution phase of a large-scale offshore development. Candidates should have previous experience working within a PMC/PMT environment on major oil & gas projects. The Role Reporting into the Project Controls function, you will be responsible for providing cost management support across project execution, ensuring accurate forecasting, reporting, and financial performance monitoring.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain project cost reports, forecasts, cash flow forecasts, and contingency analyses
- Support cost estimating activities and project budget management
- Manage change orders and cost impacts associated with scope changes
- Monitor project expenditures and committed costs
- Ensure accurate reflection of project costs throughout execution
- Review contractor payment applications and progress certificates
- Support monthly project reporting and cost performance analysis
- Process SAP transactions including service entry sheets, purchase orders, and WBS updates
- Monitor controllable costs and identify potential cost overruns
- Support change management processes from initiation through close-out
- Provide cost analysis and scenario modelling to support project decision-making
Candidate Profile
- Degree qualified in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Finance, or related discipline
- 5–10 years’ experience in project cost management
- Previous experience supporting major oil & gas projects
- Experience within a PMC/PMT environment
- Strong understanding of cost control, forecasting, and change management
- Experience using SAP and project controls systems
- Excellent analytical and reporting skills
- Fluent in English
