For Planet: Sustainability and the Environment

At WRS, we understand the impact our business operations have on the environment and the responsibility we have to the planet to conduct business in a sustainable manner.  Through our climate initiative, we focus on reducing our carbon footprint and contributing to a more sustainable future. By monitoring the emissions resulting from many aspects of our operations, we can identify key areas for improvement, such as travel and energy usage, and take action to mitigate our impact. We believe that collaboration with industry partners across the energy industry is crucial for driving meaningful change – by working together, we can amplify our efforts and make a significant positive difference to the environmental impact of our supply chain. At WRS we also seek to make a difference by investing in high quality third-party verified carbon reduction projects that are focused on energy efficiency, renewable energy growth, and sustainable cookware management which meet the United Nations’ sustainable development goals and positively impact local communities. WRS has been a ‘carbon neutral’ business since 2023.

For Good: Charity Initiatives

Through our climate action initiatives, WRS is dedicated to making a positive impact beyond our immediate operations. We recognise the importance of giving back to our communities through various initiatives. Through our collaboration with charitable organisations, we actively contribute to meaningful causes that address social inequalities and promote environmental stewardship.

In October 2023, we made the decision to team up with WQS (our sister company), based in East Africa, to support The MIK Foundation and go beyond our daily operations to offer support to those who need it most.

After deciding to look for a worthy cause local to our East Africa base, WQS discovered The MIK Foundation and the fantastic work it’s doing to support orphaned children in the region.

Collectively, WRS and WQS are dedicated to enhancing our joint corporate social responsibility to help those in need. We will be focusing our efforts to support The MIK Foundation from now and throughout 2024.
