What skills and qualifications do solar employers look for?
Requirements vary by role, but a few things consistently help you stand out: direct experience on utility-scale projects, relevant engineering or trade qualifications, OSHA safety certification, and familiarity with the equipment and standards used on modern solar builds. For commissioning and O&M roles, hands-on electrical experience carries a lot of weight. For project management, a delivery record on projects of a similar size matters more than anything on paper.

Not always. Many skills transfer from other construction and energy sectors. Employers value utility-scale project experience, electrical and engineering skills, and safety certification, even if it was gained outside solar.
Are solar jobs in Texas permanent or contract?
