Assistant Project Manager (On-Site) – Multifamily/Student Housing Location: Norman, Oklahoma

About the Role We are seeking an organized, detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager (APM) to support an on?site project team delivering a large-scale multifamily/student housing development in Norman, Oklahoma. The APM will work directly with the Project Manager and Superintendent to ensure the project is executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with schedule, budget, and quality standards.
This position is ideal for someone looking to advance their construction management career through hands-on experience with a high-profile, fast-paced project.
Key Responsibilities Project Coordination
- Assist the Project Manager with day-to-day project administration and on-site coordination.
- Support document control including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and meeting minutes.
- Communicate effectively with subcontractors, vendors, architects, engineers, and ownership teams.
Scheduling & Planning
- Help maintain and update the project schedule in coordination with field leadership.
- Track material procurement, delivery timelines, and long?lead items.
- Assist with weekly planning sessions and subcontractor coordination meetings.
Field Support
- Work closely with the Superintendent to ensure field operations are aligned with project goals.
- Perform site walks to track progress, identify issues, and verify work quality.
- Support safety initiatives, ensuring compliance with company and OSHA standards.
Cost & Quality Management
- Assist with tracking project costs, budgets, and forecasting.
- Help review subcontractor invoices, change order requests, and pay applications.
- Participate in quality control reviews, punch list creation, and project closeout.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field (or equivalent field experience).
- 1–3 years of experience in commercial, multifamily, or student housing construction preferred.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
- Proficiency with construction software (Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, etc.).
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem?solving skills.
- Ability to work full?time on-site in Norman, Oklahoma.
