Job Title: Site Lifting Foreman / Person in Charge (SLF)
Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and safety-focused Site Lifting Foreman to oversee and coordinate all mechanical lifting operations on a large-scale pipeline construction project. This role is pivotal in ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant lifting practices while supporting and guiding contractors and subcontractors’ lifting teams.
Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate all on-site mechanical lifting operations, ensuring adherence to safety procedures and lifting plans.
  • Conduct pre-lift safety checks, risk assessments, and verify lifting equipment integrity.
  • Monitor compliance with permit-to-work systems, industry regulations, and project procedures.
  • Work closely with crane operators, riggers, engineers, and other site personnel to ensure seamless execution of lifting activities.
  • Provide training and coaching to rigging teams on safe lifting practices.
  • Report incidents, near misses, or equipment malfunctions promptly, maintaining accurate documentation of lifting activities.
  • Support continuous improvement of lifting operations and promote a strong HSE culture.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in construction as a Lifting Foreman.
  • Recognised lifting-related qualifications (e.g., ISO, LEEA, EAL, CPA).
  • Strong knowledge of lifting equipment, steel structural design, and mechanical lifting disciplines.
  • Proven experience in reviewing and implementing method statements, lifting plans, and risk assessments.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure.

  • Strong attention to detail, particularly with modified or custom lifting equipment.
  • Ability to evaluate structural integrity and reinforcement requirements.
  • Effective leadership, training, and coaching skills for workforce personnel.
  • Commitment to safety and continuous improvement.

Working Conditions

  • 6 days per week, 10 hours per day, with flexibility to work overtime when required.
  • Duties may extend to supporting other site operations such as forklift, man lift, slinging, rigging, and scaffolding.
