Contract Project Engineer – Mechanical | Plaquemine, LA | ASAP Start

An established chemical manufacturer is seeking a Contract Project Engineer (Mechanical) for an onsite role in Plaquemine, LA. This is an immediate opportunity to support capital projects in a high-impact, fast-paced industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute and support capital projects from design through startup
  • Conduct stress analysis and pipe sizing calculations
  • Prepare and review process design packages (PFDs, P&IDs, equipment sizing)
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and deliver projects
  • Coordinate with Operations, Maintenance, and Safety teams

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in industrial or chemical plant environments
  • Strong background in stress analysis, piping design, and process equipment
  • Familiarity with industry codes and standards
  • Available for an ASAP start and comfortable working 100% onsite
