Compensation: $100,000 – $150,000 Base + Bonus + Full Benefits

A well-established Louisiana-based mechanical contractor is seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to join its growing team in the Greater New Orleans area. This is a confidential search for a respected commercial MEP contractor delivering HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems across healthcare, education, municipal, and commercial projects.

This opportunity is ideal for a hands-on Mechanical PM who values accountability, strong field coordination, and long-term career growth within a stable regional contractor.

Position Overview The Mechanical Project Manager will oversee commercial mechanical projects from preconstruction through closeout. The role requires strong leadership, financial oversight, scheduling expertise, and direct client interaction.

Projects typically range from mid-sized commercial renovations to large, complex mechanical installations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical piping projects from buyout to final completion
  • Oversee project budgeting, forecasting, cost tracking, and profitability
  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, field teams, engineers, and owners
  • Lead scheduling efforts and ensure milestone adherence
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, procurement, and closeout documentation
  • Support preconstruction and estimating efforts as needed
  • Maintain strong client relationships and support repeat business

Qualifications

  • 5–15+ years of mechanical construction experience
  • Strong background in commercial HVAC systems (chillers, boilers, air handlers, hydronic piping, etc.)
  • Plumbing and mechanical piping experience preferred
  • Experience managing healthcare, municipal, institutional, or commercial projects
  • Proven ability to control costs and maintain project margins
  • Proficiency with construction management and scheduling software
  • Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred (not required with strong experience)
