Project Contract Engineer

ROLE OVERVIEW
The Contract Engineer will handle contract-related and claims management duties throughout project execution.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Promote awareness and strategies for claims and counterclaims within the project team
- Evaluate current contracts and claims; advise on resolution paths during execution and close-out phases
- Provide guidance on real-time claim handling
- Investigate disputes and assess their validity
- Help build and resolve claim cases
- Draft contractor correspondence and notices
- Liaise with internal departments (Legal, HQ Claims, Project Teams, etc.)
- Assist in contract and procurement activities
- Draft and distribute meeting minutes relating to claims
- Manage documentation for claims and disputes
- Validate contractual relevance of contractor-submitted documents
- Support negotiation of contractor claims and cost disputes
- Assist in preparing contract amendments or variations
- Maintain weekly tracking of all contractor claim statuses
- Draft letters, notifications, and summary presentations
- Recommend resolution strategies for management decision-making
- Ensure organised documentation in designated project platforms
REQUIREMENTS
- 15+ years in EPC/EPCm contract and claims management, with at least 5 years in onshore oil & gas
- Fluent in both French and English
- Site-based work preferred, with some remote flexibility
