Project Engineer

We are supporting a major offshore gas field development project and are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join the Project Management Team (PMT). This role will play a key part in coordinating engineering, procurement, construction, and project management activities throughout the EPC execution phase, ensuring delivery against project objectives for safety, quality, schedule, and cost. Candidates should have previous experience working within a PMC/PMT environment on major oil & gas developments. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will support the overall planning, coordination, and execution of project activities, acting as a key interface between the owner team, EPC contractor, and project stakeholders. You will be responsible for driving project execution, managing interfaces, supporting risk management activities, and ensuring alignment across multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Project Manager in the delivery of project objectives and execution strategies
- Coordinate project activities across engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning disciplines
- Monitor project scope, schedule, cost, and quality performance throughout execution
- Support implementation of project procedures, standards, and governance requirements
- Review and coordinate contractor deliverables, correspondence, technical queries, and change notices
- Facilitate interface management and support resolution of cross-functional issues
- Drive scope change management processes and ensure appropriate stakeholder alignment
- Support project risk identification, assessment, and mitigation activities
- Coordinate project meetings, workshops, and progress reviews
- Ensure contractor compliance with project requirements and execution plans
- Support constructability, operational readiness, and HSE objectives throughout execution
- Assist with project reporting, performance monitoring, and management presentations
- Support project close-out activities, lessons learned capture, and documentation handover
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
- 10–15 years’ experience within oil & gas, refinery, petrochemical, or major energy infrastructure projects
- Previous PMC/PMT experience essential
- Strong experience supporting EPC execution on large-scale capital projects
- Good knowledge of international engineering standards and project management principles
- Familiarity with owner-contractor interface management processes
- Strong understanding of project controls, change management, risk management, and project execution methodologies
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience managing project data and reporting
- Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills
- Fluent in English
